Grudgeball — the classic whole-class review game for the whiteboard

What is Grudgeball?

Grudgeball (also spelled Grudge Ball) is a fast, competitive whole-class review game. Teams answer your questions to rub out their rivals' X's, then take a bonus shot at a bin or hoop for extra points. It's a brilliant no-prep way to revise any topic before a test — and this digital version runs straight on your whiteboard, free.

How to play Grudgeball

  1. Split the class into 3–6 teams. Put each team on the board with 10 X's to start.
  2. Show a question. The team in play answers (on a mini-whiteboard or aloud).
  3. Correct? They rub out two X's — both from one rival, or one each from two teams.
  4. They then take a bonus shot at the bin: a made shot wins back or steals extra X's (further line = more X's).
  5. Play passes to the next team. Keep going until time's up or you run out of questions.
  6. The team with the most X's left on the board wins.
