How does Behind the Tiles work?
A picture hides behind 9, 16, 25 or 36 numbered tiles on the whiteboard. Ask the class a quiz question — a correct answer lifts a tile and reveals a piece of the picture. The first pupil to guess what the picture is wins.
Where do the pictures and questions come from?
Pictures come from Wikimedia. Questions are written to your lesson topic and the age of your class, and you can preview and edit everything — swap pictures, reword questions and answers — before you launch the game.
Can I use my own pictures?
Yes — choose Upload Your Own and pick pictures from your computer. Uploaded pictures stay in your browser and are never sent to a server, so photos of your own class stay on your computer.
Is Behind the Tiles free?
Ready-made rounds and uploading your own pictures are free with a Sage Teachers sign-in. Generating a round from your own topic is a Pro feature.
Is this like the TV show Catchphrase?
