Quizmaster — a free team quiz game for the classroom

A free team quiz game for the classroom

Quizmaster is a free team quiz game for the classroom whiteboard. Split the class into teams, take turns picking a numbered tile, and answer to score — with hidden power-ups (Bonus, Steal, Sabotage and Double) that shake up the points and keep everyone on their toes. No pupil devices needed; it all runs from the front of the room.

How to run a quiz

  1. Choose how to make it — pick a ready-made quiz, generate one from a topic, or write your own questions.
  2. Pick your teams (2–4), optionally pulling names from a class list.
  3. Host it on the whiteboard: each team picks a tile and answers its question.
  4. Mark it correct or incorrect — the score updates, and undo/redo is there if you mis-tap.
  5. Reveal the power-up tiles as they come up; the highest score at the end wins.

Why teachers like it

  • Free, and no student devices — the whole class plays from one screen.
  • Make your own quiz, write your own questions, or generate one on any topic.
  • Power-ups add luck and excitement, so it’s not just the strongest team that wins.
  • Undo/redo means a mis-tapped score is never a problem.

Quizmaster works as an end-of-topic review, a lesson starter, or a fun Friday game for any subject and any age from primary upwards — maths, English, science, history, geography, languages or general knowledge.
